A GUIDE TO FITTING A SIGN WITH TRADITIONAL FRONT FIXINGS
You will need:
- DRILL – with a 6mm diameter masonry bit
- SCREWDRIVER – if you are using an electric screwdriver set it at its slowest speed
- SPIRIT LEVEL – to ensure your sign is level
- MALLET/HAMMER & PUNCH – to mark the wall for screw holes
- SAFETY EQUIPMENT – such as goggles to be worn when drilling into masonry
How to fit your sign:
- Place your sign on the wall in your preferred position and use a spirit level to ensure it is horizontal
- Mark the position of the fixing holes by inserting a punch or long masonry nail through each hole and gently tapping with a mallet or hammer to leave a mark on the wall
- Drill holes at each marked position ensuring the holes are deep enough to accommodate the screw and wall plug
- Insert the wall plugs by gently tapping with a hammer or mallet
- Position the sign back over the fixing holes and carefully screw into place being careful not to slip and damage the face of the sign
- Do not over tighten the screws as this can cause damage to the sign
